Kingspan K5 Insulation
Kingspan K5 Insulation is a Premium Performance Phenolic Rigid Thermoset Insulation Board suitable for applying to external masonry walls. Kooltherm K5 insulation is suitable for use behind both traditional and lightweight polymer modified render systems. Furthermore it is also suitable for dry cladding systems. These include tile hanging or external timber claddings and their artificial alternatives.
The insulation core has a glass tissue-based facing on both sides. These facings are bonded to the phenolic foam core during manufacture. The glass tissue gives and ideal face to render on once fitted with the appropriate render mesh. You can cut Kingspan Kooltherm K5 board either by using a fine toothed saw or with a sharp knife. If using a knife score one side the snap the board over a straight edge and then cut the facing on the other side.
This high spec external insulation board can be an ideal product when upgrading an old property. Importantly giving the opportunity of being able to save room size by not having to add additional insulation to the inside skin. A number of other products are required to complete this insulation system such as fixings and mesh for the render to key to.
