Recticel Powerdeck U
Recticel Powerdeck U flat roof insulation board is manufactured for use with torch on roofing felt systems. This high specification Recticel PIR insulation board has a low thermal conductivity of 0.024 - 0.026 W/m-K depending on thickness. Covered on both sides with a bituminous glass fleece which assists in the adhesion of the torch on roofing products. Another additional positive for this insulation is that it has a high compressive strength of 150 kPa at yield allowing for light foot traffic. Importantly this Recticel insulation has an impressive fire performance of class 1 to BS 476 part 7. Because the PIR insulation foam core does not degrade or deteriorate when exposed to moisture it will not lose its thermal performance.
Recticel Powerdeck ‘U’ installation
Recticels Powerdeck insulation is manufactured in sheet size 1200×600 which makes it easy to handle and install on a flat roof. Important to note is that this insulation board is made in thicknesses from 30mm to 150mm with some of these requiring to be made to order. A general construction using this insulation could be made up of many layers. These would include ceiling joists, structural deck , vapour control layer , powerdeck u and then the waterproof torch on system. Using this system can reach ‘U’ values as low as 0.010 W/m2K. Because Recticel powerdeck u has this particular face on it , it can be stuck to the vapour control layer rather than intrusive fixings.
