Recticel Eurothane PL Insulated Plasterboard
Recticel Eurothane PL is Recticel insulations answer to a pre-insulated wallboard. Because this insulation board is laminated to plasterboard it allows a single fix solution when installing insulation on the internal walls. Being a three in one solution saves time rather than installing a vapour control layer . Along with insulation board then plasterboard over the top separately. Importantly this insulated plasterboard has a paper backing rather than foil so it can be dot and dab fixed , use spray adhesive as well as mechanical fixings.
Recticel insulated wallboard is manufactured in 25mm , 40mm, 50mm and 65mm plus 12.5mm plasterboard at 2400mm x 1200mm. Having straight edges ensures a complete seal of insulation ensuring no cold bridging takes place. Of course there are cheaper options to using Recticel eurothane PL insulated wallboard. Using a Recticel GP board with a separate sheet of plasterboard can be cheaper to buy. But these must be mechanically fixed and also can take longer to install.
Important to note is that with this insulant being bonded to 12.5mm plasterboard brings this up to Euroclass B s1 according to EN 13950:2014 fire performance. Also an impressive low lambda value of 0.022 W/m-K making it easier to hit necessary target ‘U’ values.
These Recticel eurothane PL boards are an ideal solution for combatting thermal bridging when insulating a loft space under the rafters as the insulation forms a barrier between the timber and plasterboard.
