Rockwool Firepro Intumescent Sealant

ROCKWOOL FirePro Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is used to reinstate the fire resistance of both floor and wall constructions. This is where apertures are penetrated by multiple services such as pipes and ducting or where linear gaps have been formed. Rockwools Acoustic Intumescent Sealant has been highly tested and is the only product which Rockwool approve for use with there Ablative Coated Batts.

When applying the Rockwool fire sealant to gain proper adhesion the surfaces of the building should be free of any dust or grease also they may need to be primed. On good clean new concrete and masonry no priming should be necessary. It is recommended that a small trial area is tested to confirm proper adhesion in case priming is required . Importantly the Rockwool sealant should not be applied whilst temperatures are below 5°C as adhesion may be impaired. Another important feature of the Rockwool sealant is that it is fast curing. It only takes approximately 15 minutes to become tack free. When it is fully cured the sealant can be overpainted.
