Celotex XR4000 Insulation Board
Celotex Insulation XR4000 board is the range of multi-purpose insulation boards that Celotex make in sizes thicker than 100 mm. This code is the code Celotex give their ‘Extra Resistance’ board due to the thickness of the insulation board. Produced using a PIR foam sandwiched between 2 layers of low emissivity foil facings. These Low E foil facings emit low levels of radiant thermal energy (heat). This PIR insulation board is mainly used in ‘cut to fit’ roof applications such as between roof rafters and floor joists. In addition Celotex XR4000 can be used for over joist flat roof applications when used alongside suitable plywood or OSB sheet materials. Furthermore Celotex XR4000 insulation is also suitable for use for under slab floor insulation and partition wall insulation.
Generally the XR4000 sheets of insulation are used in conjunction with Celotex TB4000 thermal break insulation . In floor insulation projects this thinner board would be used as a perimeter upstand to prevent cold bridging through the walls into the floor. Also when insulating a loft Celotex TB4000 would be used to eliminate cold bridging situations covering the underside of the roof timbers.
This Insulation board meets the current and future requirements of ( part L) of building regs. and the code for sustainable homes and is also currently available in thicknesses from 110 mm-200 mm. Importantly Celotex manufacture this insulation board using a blowing agent that has a low global warming potential and zero ozone depletion potential.
